Original message from the Wage and Hour Division below:

As previously announced, on October 17, 2018, the Wage and Hour Division of the U.S. Department of Labor will hold a public listening session to gather views on the Part 541 white collar exemption regulations, often known as the “Overtime Rule.” The Department plans to update the Overtime Rule, and is interested in hearing the views and ideas of participants on possible revisions to the regulations.

In response to requests from the public, the Department is re-opening registration at this time to allow for a limited number of additional guests. In order to accommodate more people, registrants will now be seated in two separate areas, with actual seating to be determined on a first come first served basis. After the main seating area is filled, all subsequent registrant arrivals will be seated in a secondary location. As the event is limited to two hours, we encourage everyone to arrive early to allow for the time required for security procedures, check-in, and seating, and be prepared to present a government/state-issued photo identification card to building security services. The dedicated event entrance, the Northeast Plaza Entrance, is alongside the general visitors’ entrance of the Frances Perkins Building at the intersection of 3rd Street NW and C Street NW and will open at 8:30am.

Please visit the Eventbrite listening session registration page to sign up. For those of you who have already registered for this event, we ask that you revisit the registration page to view critical information added today.
